CellFX at Wilmington Dermatology Center
Most unwanted skin spots, bumps, and growths (clinically known as benign lesions) are made up of cells. They can be tricky to treat, so “how” you do it matters.
At WDC, our mission is to use the latest technologies and deliver long-lasting, natural-looking results remains steadfast — which is why we’re excited to bring CellFX to the region! CellFX allows our team to treat a variety of benign lesions to restore even, healthy skin, all while ensuring your comfort throughout the process.
What is CellFX?
CellFX is a modern aesthetic treatment designed to help you love the look and feel of your skin. It addresses common skin concerns like spots, bumps, and growths, which are clinically known as benign lesions. It treats a wide variety of lesion types and sizes on the face, forehead, neck, back, hands, and feet for smooth, beautiful skin. Examples include warts, sebaceous hyperplasia, and other benign lesions that patients would like to have removed, but are often difficult to resolve with traditional methods.
CellFX uses state-of-the-art Nano-Pulse Stimulation™ (NPS™) technology to eliminate unwanted cells while preserving healthy, non-cellular collagen. This also stimulates cell turnover, which replaces affected cells with new ones to naturally refresh your skin. CellFX is a non-thermal procedure, meaning it reduces the risk of scarring and promotes natural, gradual healing.
How does the treatment feel?
Your provider will place the treatment device on each lesion to deliver energy pulses. While it’s normal to experience mild twitching or muscle spasms, any discomfort should be very tolerable during this time. If there are ever any concerns, additional anesthesia may be administered if requested.
Is there downtime?
Immediately after your CellFX procedure, we’ll cover the treatment area with healing ointment and bandages. Although the healing process may vary based on your skin type and lesion size, most patients can immediately return to work and normal daily activities.
How long will it take to see results?
Most lesions dissipate within 30-60 days and can be permanently cleared with one treatment. For optimal results, larger or deeper lesions may require more healing time or a second session.
