Summer Safe Treatments
While summer is in full swing, we often get the question about our favorite procedures that can be safely done over the summer. Two of our most sought-after summer treatments, and for good reason, are Ultherapy and Virtue RF. We’re going to discuss how these procedures work, benefits of each, and touch on some important things to know when deciding what may be best for you.
Let’s start with Ultherapy. Safe to do all year long, Ulthera is one of the staples at our practice for a good reason! Ultherapy, also known as the “non-invasive lift”, is a way to tighten and lift skin of the face — usually the eyes, cheeks, neck, and décolleté — for a natural, youthful look. Unlike lasers, Ultherapy utilizes heat from ultrasound to stimulate collagen development under the skin. The collagen is strengthened, providing your skin with a return to a more youthful and lifted position. Ultherapy isn’t a replacement for a face lift, but it’s an excellent non-surgical option to achieve noticeable results with minimal to no downtime! The results from Ulthera can take 3-6 months to see, and last anywhere from 2-5 years depending on multiple factors like age, sun exposure and overall skin condition.
The Virtue RF is a minimally invasive procedure to stimulate the production of collagen and improve skin look and vitality on the face, neck, hands, and body. Virtue RF uses microneedles carrying radio frequency energy to deliver precise heat treatment to thousands of targeted zones beneath the skin. By heating specific subdermal areas, collagen is generated for tighter, smoother skin and wrinkle reduction — all without damaging the skin’s surface. It’s the next generation in radio frequency and microneedling technology, combined into a single treatment. The Virtue RF goes beyond treating wrinkles and fine lines by improving skin tone and texture with virtually no social downtime. We are making a permanent change in your collagen, so like Ultherapy, results are permanent. As you continue to age, you continue to break down the collagen as well.
While Ultherapy is a one-time procedure, Virtue RF requires a series of 3-4 treatments every 6 weeks. Ultherapy typically does a better job at giving a lift to treated areas while Virtue RF tends to do better with helping fine lines and wrinkling with some lifting benefit as well.
Both treatments hit on similar skincare goals, so we highly recommend coming in to see us for a consult to determine which treatment would better suit your desired outcome. Schedule your consult today by calling 910-256-4350!
