Should I Coolsculpt or Kybella under my chin?
With the amount of non-surgical treatment options becoming available, it can definitely get confusing as to what treatment options are best for each individual. That’s where we come in…the skincare experts!
If you aren’t familiar with what Coolsculpting and Kybella are, lets start with a little background.
Coolsculpting™ is a patented, non-invasive, clinically proven procedure designed to selectively reduce fat layers in problem areas. This unique technology cools and freezes the unwanted fat cells without surgery or downtime that results in a visible reduction of fat. The treated problem cells are gone for good, creating an ideal non-invasive long-term treatment.
Kybella™ is used to treat a commonly undertreated aesthetic condition known as submental fat, or in common terms the “double chin” area. The active ingredient in the Kybella injection is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When it is injected into the fat beneath your chin, the solution causes the destruction of fat cells, causing the cells to be destroyed and unable to store or accumulate fat.
Both procedures can be used to treat the submental chin area. While each treatment plan is customized to your individual needs, there are a few differences between the two. A lot of times we will use Coolsculpting to treat the central submental chin area and then come back with Kybella to “fine tune” and improve the remainder of the area for shaping the jawline. Both are effective treatments for the area, butKybella is one that may typically take 2-3 treatments to see optimal results, while Cooslculpting is usually a one-treatment option.
Since everyone is different and we customize each treatment, we strongly urge you to come in for a consult prior to your appointment in order to breakdown the procedure and give individual pricing for your goals. Call or email our office today to schedule yours!
