How Does Restylane® Contour Work?

There are a few steps we take to ensure that you get tailored, optimal results. We’ll go through the complete process during a free consultation, but we can say here that treatment is quick, downtime is minimal, and you can have gorgeous, natural-looking volume restored to your cheeks in no time.

Before Restylane® Contour

Prior to treatment, your doctor will discuss your medical history during a free consultation and assess how Restylane® Contour can help you achieve your aesthetic goals. They’ll also take photos and inform you about what to expect from the procedure itself.

During Restylane® Contour

On the day of your appointment, we’ll clean your skin and apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area. Your injections will also have lidocaine for your comfort. Your doctor will apply a predetermined number of syringes to your precise treatment areas to ensure your cheeks look as natural as they look full.

After Restylane® Contour

You may experience some brief swelling or redness for the first few days. You’ll begin to see results soon after, and have that lovely, natural-looking volume after about 12 weeks. Your doctor will give you some post-treatment instructions to ensure optimal results.

What to Expect from Restylane® Contour Treatment

Restylane® Contour adds significant, natural-looking volume to your cheeks, and its effectiveness has been backed by scientific study: virtually all patients experience an improvement in appearance and volume in their cheeks and midface. Just as importantly, these results last — improvement was present at both 12 weeks and 12 months post-treatment.

How long do results last?

Results from Restylane® Contour typically last 12 months, though many people will choose to come in for refreshers in anticipation of further volume loss.

When will I see the results?

Typically, you’ll start to notice first results after any initial post-treatment swelling dissipates — often as early as one week. You should see complete results by 12 weeks that last for a year or longer.

Can I get Restylane® Contour before a special occasion?

There can be redness and swelling for up to a week after your injections. Please plan accordingly prior to social events.

Does the procedure hurt?

We apply a topical numbing agent, so you should feel no more than a little pinch or pressure at the injection site.

How does the procedure work?
