At-Home Eye Treatments Open Up a World of Possibilities

Best Skin Care Products in 2022

We’re about to open your eyes to the many advanced at-home eye treatments that can rejuvenate your appearance! In this blog, we’re going to share everything you need to know about the newest FDA Approved products: UPNEEQ® for ptosis (or low-lying lids) and the tried-and-true LATISSE® for eyelash growth. These two products in combination will make your lashes pop and give your eyes a brighter, more refreshed look with only a few simple steps!

All About UPNEEQ®

Let’s start with the newest exciting addition to our cosmetic line, UPNEEQ®! UPNEEQ® is the only FDA Approved prescription eyedrop for acquired ptosis (low-lying lids) that lifts your upper eyelids to open your eyes. You read that correctly – it actually opens your eyes more! In addition to affecting your appearance, low-lying eyelids can also impact your eyesight by reducing your field of vision. Low-lying lids may lead to issues with day-to-day functioning, like reading, driving, and computer use, while also negatively impacting your appearance by making you look tired or causing your eyes to be asymmetrical.

  • How does UPNEEQ® work?
UPNEEQ® contains oxymetazoline hydrochloride, a vasoconstrictor that causes one of your eye-opening muscles to contract (imagine your eyelid is a garage door and this muscle is the garage door opener).
  • How long do the effects of UPNEEQ® last?
Most people see results quickly, sometimes as soon as 15 minutes. Peak effects occur around two hours and last up to eight hours.
  • What does it feel like? Is it hard to blink?
The physical feeling from UPNEEQ® is subtle, and it does not make blinking (or sleeping) difficult.
  • Can I use UPNEEQ® more than once a day?
Studies only provide data on once daily use, so we cannot recommend any usage or dosage more frequent than that.
  • Do I have to use UPNEEQ® once every day?
No. UPNEEQ® only lasts for six to eight hours, regardless of how often you use it. You could apply your UPNEEQ® in the morning to make putting on eye make-up easier, save it for special events, or keep a vial with you to use as a pick-me-up when you’re on the mid-afternoon struggle bus. The cost for UPNEEQ® is $225 for a 45-day supply.

Lots of Love for LATISSE®

Next up is the tried-and-true serum for lash growth, LATISSE®, the first and only FDA Approved eyelash growth serum clinically proven to make eyelashes longer, thicker, and darker. The numbers don’t lie with LATISSE®: in clinical studies, lashes have proven to be 25% longer, 106% fuller, and 18% darker after 16 weeks of consistent use.

  • How does LATISSE® work?
LATISSE® is bimatoprost ophthalmic solution at 0.03% concentration that’s applied nightly to the base of the upper lashes. With consistent use, the solution causes your natural lash to grow longer, fuller, and darker.
  • How long do the effects of LATISSE® last?
LATISSE® takes about 10 to 16 weeks for visible results to appear. You will continue to see and maintain results as you use the product. If discontinued, your lashes will gradually return to their original appearance.
  • How often do I use LATISSE®?
You should consistently use LATISSE® nightly for the first 16 weeks. Once your lashes are at the length and improvement you are happy with, you can maintain your results by using the product 3-4 times weekly. LATISSE® costs $186 for a 3-month supply.
  • Can I use LATISSE® more than once a day?
No, LATISSE® is meant to be used once nightly, and may cause irritation if overused.

The Eyes Have It

As with most at-home products, the results of UPNEEQ® and LATISSE® can be boosted further with a combination of in-office treatments like BOTOX® Cosmetic and other neuromodulators. The options for improvements are constantly progressing, and we’re excited to help you on your journey.
